Have you or anyone in your school community tried a new practice that had a positive impact or transformed a process?
Hi everyone! 👋🏼
With the end of the school year in sight, I’m curious to know what your takeaways are.
Specifically, is there a new practice, big or small, that has positively impacted how a process is carried out in a classroom, or at your school?
For example, when high school English teacher Chanea Bond was struggling to manage the overwhelming number of emails she was receiving from home adults, she implemented a game-changing solution: She had her students email regular updates about their assignments and progress in school to trusted adults in their lives, easing her communication workload while nurturing student accountability.
The move could be as big as a shift in grading models, or as granular as a principal changing the time of day you have meetings. As long as it positively transformed some aspect of your day-to-day experience at your school, I’m interested in hearing about it!
It could’ve been something you started or a colleague in your school community tried, including fellow educators, counselors, bus drivers, principals, cafeteria staff, etc. And if you can, please tell us why this move was such a game-changer. One to two sentences is perfect!
I’m excited to read your responses, and will respond to as many as I can! Thank you all so much.
