As a student, I see a lot of other students struggling. I wonder at night, if we introduce critical thinking and internet research skills, could we fix the problem?

By internet research skills, I mean knowing how to get correct information on the internet. Because, being honest, I have never used some of the information like "Use the excerpt to answer the question. If a builder has built a house for a man, and has not joined his work, and the wall has fallen, that builder at his own cost shall make good that wall. —The Code of Hammurabi, 1772 BCE. The excerpt supports the idea that the Code of Hammurabi was written to ensure A trade. B health. C justice. D prosperity." The answer is C. But who is asking? So we should teach in school what sources are good, and how to collect information. Now I understand that we need basic information, but couldn't we shorten the school days and focus on critical thinking, not memorizing facts, anyway? I forget everything that I don't deem important.
