University of Wyoming Lab School, a K–9 demonstration school that partnered with the University of Wyoming School of Education, modeled the benefits of professional development for both teachers and students.

  • Academically outperformed 84% of elementary schools in Wyoming in 2016.
  • Charter member of the League of Democratic Schools and a 2014 Ashoka Changemaker School.
  • In 2017, 12 Lab School students received Wyoming Congressional Awards for achievement.

Editor’s Note: After 135 years in operation, the Lab School closed for good in June of 2025 when they could no longer occupy their building on the campus of the University of Wyoming. Learn more about the decision in this article from Wyoming Public Media.
