I'll be the first to admit: I love a good analogy in the classroom—and we lean into them constantly in our room. The blindfolded men and the elephant (value: perspective), Aesop's The Crow and the Pitcher (reminder: student ownership) and, in myriad ways, the octopus.

But I'm curious: what are some analogies you use in your own classroom and instruction—and why do you find them helpful?
