Founder & CEO of Urban Prep Academies

Tim King is founder and CEO of Urban Prep Academies, a network of public charter boys’ high-schools in Chicago. 100% of Urban Prep graduates—all African-American males and mostly from low-income families—have been admitted to college. A graduate of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and Law Center, King serves on the Chicago Park District Board of Commissioners, teaches at Northwestern University and has published in the New York Times, Journal of Negro Education, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times, and Huffington Post.
