Thomas McKenna

Dr. Thomas "TJ" McKenna is Clinical Assistant Professor of Science Education and Director of the Center for STEM Professional Learning at Scale at Boston University's Wheelock College of Education and Human Development. With 20 years of experience as scientist, educator, and science communicator, he works at the nexus of policy, practice, and research to support high-quality science learning for all students. He is founder of Phenomena for NGSS and author of the recently released book "Making Sense of Sensemaking: Designing Authentic K-12 STEM Learning Experiences" (Teachers College Press/NSTA Press, 2025).
