Thomas Drake
Teacher and Educational Leader
Dr. Thomas Drake Jr. is a Lecturer in the Educational Studies program at the University of Michigan’s (U-M) Marsal Family School of Education. Prior to his roles at U-M, Dr. Drake worked for 10 years as a teacher and educational leader in underserved communities. Dr. Drake’s scholarship, teaching, and administrative practice aspire to reduce racialized and gendered harms that may result from educational systems and processes. Specifically, he examines how the structures, policies, and contexts of learning organizations are associated with the experiences and outcomes for those whose identities have been historically marginalized.
