Stephanie Toro has more than 18 years of experience teaching science at the secondary and tertiary level. As an assistant professor and a discipline-based education researcher in the School of Science at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, she works with professors and local secondary teachers to improve the teaching and learning of science. She is a pedagogical coach and consultant for teachers and schools through Academic Independence Coaching, LLC. Her coaching approach is a combination of practical and theoretical that engages teachers in a highly personalized professional development using self-regulated learning strategies for adults. She also currently writes innovative STEM curriculum for the Reimagined Classroom.
