Shannon Garrison
Fifth Grade Teacher
Shannon Garrison has spent the last 26 years teaching in the Los Angeles Unified School District. She currently teaches fifth grade at Stonehurst STEAM Magnet Elementary School. She was the recipient of the national Milken Educator Award in 2008, named an LA County Teacher of the Year and California Teacher of the Year semi-finalist in 2016, and received the Henry Ford Teacher Innovator Award in 2020. She served on the National Assessment Governing Board from 2010–2018 and was the Chair of the Assessment Development Committee during her last six years.
