Shannon Feineis

Physics Teacher

Shannon Feineis has taught physics at Barrington High School (BHS) for the last 21 years. She has a degree in physics education from Illinois State University, a master’s degree in curriculum instruction and assessment from Walden University, and a master’s degree in educational technology from American College of Education.

She has written two articles for The Physics Teacher: “Getting Your Students to Speak Up,” and “Mentor-Mentee Relationships: A Two-Way Street.” Shannon helps run professional development at BHS, offering sessions on “Getting to Know Students with Daily Conversation Prompts,” “Combating Burnout by Working with Instructional Coaches,” “Teaching Students to find Best Evidence,” and “Making Connections with Students to Build Classroom Community.”
