Rachel M. Restani

Rachel M. Restani, PhD, is currently a research fellow at the University of California, Davis. Her research examines culturally sustaining, rigorous, problem-based mathematics instruction that leverages and elevates students’ strengths, especially those who have been historically marginalized from STEM fields. She has worked with teachers in K–12 classrooms both nationally and internationally. Before that, Rachel taught high school mathematics to culturally and linguistically diverse students in California using language routines to promote conceptual understanding and mathematical reasoning.
