Having begun her teaching career as a special education teacher, Melanie Meehan was the elementary writing and social studies coordinator in Simsbury, Connecticut, for nearly 14 years. She has since opened The Writing Clinic, focused on building the writing lives of students. Her passion for writing has led to several books and publications. Her most recent book, Foundational Skills for Writing, is co-written with Maggie Beattie Roberts, and is available now.
