Mary Rebecca Burns

Mary Rebecca Burns has been an educator for 50 years, teaching middle school language arts, adult school GED classes, college writing for English language learners, professional development for early childhood teachers, and university teacher education courses leading to Florida ESOL Certification. She holds a doctorate in linguistics with a special focus on child language development in classroom settings. She is currently a substitute teacher at her neighborhood bilingual charter school where she enjoys supporting classroom teachers, engaging with students, and improving her Spanish.
