Credit: Dave and Marilyn ForrestEnglish teacher Marilyn Forrest achieved National Board Certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in 1999. She and her husband, Dave, were the first from James Logan High School in Union City, California, to receive certification, which recognizes teachers who successfully complete a rigorous portfolio and assessment process. Forrest also has been teacher of the year, a mentor teacher, and a leader in integrating technology into the Logan High School curriculum.
