Lower School English Language Arts Specialist at Khan Lab School

Katherine James is the Lower School English Language Arts Specialist at Khan Lab School, an independent school associated with Khan Academy. She holds a B.A. in Creative Writing from Brown University, with an emphasis on poetry and long-form journalism. She comes to KLS from Reading Partners, where she ran a literacy intervention program at an elementary school in Richmond, CA. Over the past seven years, Katherine has spent time working as an elementary reading and math tutor and as an after-school writing program director. She loves helping students find their voice and grow as readers and writers.
