Kara Loftin

Head of School

Working in education for 25 years, Kara has dedicated her career to developing and facilitating interventions and supports for K–12 students with exceptionalities, in particular students with dyslexia. Kara is the head of school of The Schenck School and executive director of ReadSource, focusing on teacher training and direct instruction in the science of reading. She holds certification as a structured literacy specialist from CERI and earned a Ph.D. in special education from the University of Northern Colorado.
