Joanna Schwartz is a third-grade teacher in Philadelphia and the founder of Toolbox for Teachers, an organization that provides workshops on the topics of mental health in schools, social and emotional learning, trauma-informed education, and mindfulness. She has trained several thousand teachers, and her pitch for Toolbox for Teachers was the winner of MSNBC’s 2015 Know Your Value competition. Joanna was a featured presenter at the Trauma Sensitive Schools 2021 conference. Her book on mental health in schools, The Teacher Toolbox for a Calm and Connected Classroom, will be published in the summer of 2021.
