Irvin Weathersby Jr.

Writer and Professor

I began my career as a public school teacher in Baltimore and New York City. Currently, I teach literature and writing at Queensborough Community College and Hunter College in New York City. I have also served formerly incarcerated youth as the Education Coordinator of NYC Justice Corps in Harlem and the South Bronx. My writing explores art, music, film, and education within the contexts of race. I have published 3 biographies in Notable Black American Men II and have also written for The Atlantic, The Root, EBONY, Afropunk, and Edsurge.
