Emma Chiappetta

Math Teacher

Emma Chiappetta teaches mathematics at Wasatch Academy in Central Utah. In her classroom, Emma focuses on educating each student individually by facilitating a competency-based curriculum in which students learn the material at their own pace through a medium of their choosing (videos, textbook, graphing applets, practice problems, etc.). Emma also emphasizes the use of authentic assessments like projects and challenging math tasks. For her efforts, Emma was named K–12 Teacher of the Year in Utah in 2017. Emma also serves as the curriculum coordinator at Wasatch, working with teachers to improve their curricular alignment and integrate more authentic assessments.
