Researcher and Teacher Educator
Emily Midkiff teaches courses on children’s literature and literacy at the University of North Dakota. Before getting her MA in children’s literature and PhD in literacy education, she spent nine years working in children’s theater. Now she researches children’s books with attention to what children have to say about them. Her most recent publication is Equipping Space Cadets: Primary Science Fiction for Young Children, a book-length study of science fiction for children.
