Elaine Margarita Mendez

Elementary School Vice Principal

Elaine Margarita Mendez has been an urban school educator for 15 years. During this time, she has taught all grades in the K–5 band as either a general education teacher, an ESL teacher, or a bilingual teacher. As a teacher coach, Elaine has guided and supported teachers by modeling best teaching practices; she now works as an elementary school vice principal in Newark Public Schools in New Jersey. She is currently pursuing a doctor of education degree in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on elementary education. Elaine’s passion for literacy, best teaching practices, and teacher development have guided her educational interests and have inspired her to continue on the path of being a lifelong learner.
