Kirstin Milks

Teacher

Dr. Kirstin Milks creates innovative, collaborative, science-oriented learning experiences for children and adults. She is a National Board certified teacher, a Presidential Awardee for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching, a Lilly Teacher Creativity Fellow, a Senior Fellow at the Knowles Teacher Initiative, and the 2025 president of the National Association of Biology Teachers. Kirstin is the coauthor, with Whitney Aragaki, of Place-Based Science Teaching: Connecting Students to Curriculum, Community, and Caring for Our Planet, designed to help educators connect students to curriculum, community, and caring for our planet.
