Dr. Dorothy E. Hines is an assistant professor in the School of Education and in the Department of African and African American Studies at the University of Kansas. Her work promotes the brilliance and creativity of black girls who are overdisciplined and marginalized by schools. She is a former high school U.S. history teacher from North Carolina.
