Darby Evans

Associate Program Director, Center for Literacy Education, University of Notre Dame

Darby Evans works as the associate program director at Notre Dame’s Center for Literacy Education. Darby taught English and literature to grades 6–8 in Fort Worth, Texas, for two years and in Harlem, New York, for one year. She especially enjoys teaching poetry units, promoting diverse authors who write multicultural texts, and incorporating pop culture media in her teaching. In Darby’s current role at Notre Dame, she assists professors with teaching and research, writes about education, and coordinates teacher formation programs. Last but not least, she considers herself an avid Kansas Jayhawks basketball fan and would love to chat about college basketball anytime.
