Christina N. Smith

Literary catalyst inspiring a love for reading in children as a means to promote their self-growth & emotional intelligence

Christina Smith is an entrepreneur, consultant, mother, speaker, independent publisher and Children's book author. "Joseph's Journey: When Dad Left and Never Came Back" is her first book. Using a real world challenge that many children face today, this non-fiction literary work will teach young children about important aspects of emotional intelligence such as flexibility, optimism, empathy and more with easy-to-understand text, narrated in the voice of a 7-year-old-boy with engaging, realistic illustrations of a real family.

Christina Smith enjoys using the written and spoken word to encourage and inspire children to want to become their best selves. While technology is an important and useful tool, in the age of technology, it is easy for children not to know how to truly communicate with one another and understand each other. Empathy, impeccable communication, cooperation and compromise are all like muscles that need to be strengthened or else they will never be developed. Reading a book can still take children to places they never thought they could go or access. However, the teaching of social and emotional intelligence along with literacy are complimentary and can go hand-in-hand. One way to teach our children self-awareness is through the fun and engaging medium of books of all types; interactive ebooks, as well as print books.

Christina is a certified graduate/alumnus of, certified professional speaker/author, George Ramirez' "Present with Purpose" (2008) & two-time student of his "The Miracle in the Mirror" programs. She has received a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Assembly in Honor of Graduating from the Women's Initiative for Self Employment and dedication to empowering the quality of her life and her community (2007).

Additionally, she is a student of Certified Rebirthing-Breathwork Practitioner, Iris Watson (Nelson). She holds an Associates degree in Legal Administration/Paralegal Studies from Heald Business College.
