Carolina Riveros-Ruenes

6th Grade English Language Arts Teacher

I am celebrating my 16th year in education. Many turns have led to my current work at Two Rivers Middle School in Washington DC. I was born in the lovely city of Santiago, Chile. My family moved to Miami, Florida, when I was in my middle school years, and I lived out the rest of my childhood and adolescence there. I married and moved to Tallahassee, FL, where I completed the Language Arts Teacher Certification program and obtained a Bachelor's degree in English Literature. I have since worked with children in various capacities. Before coming to Two Rivers, I taught high school Language Arts in Miami. We then moved to DC in 2004. That fall, my oldest daughter began attending Two Rivers as a pre-K student, which was also when I joined Two Rivers to teach Spanish. In the fall of 2009, I returned to my love of reading and writing literature by joining the English Department in the Two Rivers Middle School. My family and I are enthusiastic members of the Two Rivers’ community. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my three daughters, eat and cook good food, read, and if I'm lucky, go on dates with my hubby.
