Brad Jacobson

8th Grade Social Studies Teacher

I am starting my 8th year as a teacher at Olympia Middle School in Stanford, Illinois.. I have attended three colleges in my journey to become a teacher. I first attended Illinois Central College for two years where I earned an Associate’s in Arts and Sciences. I played baseball at ICC for two years, before transferring to Western Illinois. I attended WIU on a baseball scholarship, but decided to decline it and relocate to Illinois State a year later. I graduated from ISU in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in history. I can teach social studies from 6-12 grade and middle school language arts. In 2013 I earned my master’s degree in educational administration. I became a Google Educator last year.

I coached baseball and basketball at Pleasant Valley, baseball at Tremont High School, and am an IHSA certified baseball umpire. I work about 100 games during the summer months. I also have been a player/manager for the past five seasons in the Peoria Sunday Morning League with the Chase Reds. My wife, Caitlyn, and I live in Marquette Heights and were married in September of 2010. We live there with our dog Hunter.

My son Jace was born in October of 2013. I am having a blast learning how to be a dad, and watching him grow!
