Ayanna Cooper

Director of English-Language Learner Program, Southbridge Public Schools

Ayanna Cooper is the Director for English-Language Leaner Programs for Southbridge Public Schools, an adjunct professor and independent educational consultant. She has been active in the field of English language teaching and learning for the past 10 years. Some of her professional experiences include chairing the 2009 Southeast TESOL Regional Conference, 2009 – 2010 President of Georgia TESOL, a Professional Development Standing Committee member for International TESOL, Inc. and serving as the 1st VP for the Lesley University Alumni Council. In 2010 Dr. Cooper was selected as one of ASCD's Emerging Leaders. She earned her doctorate degree from Walden University and her specialist degree from Piedmont College. Her professional interests lie in the areas of English language teaching & learning, teacher efficacy, professional development, teacher education and creating and sustaining culturally responsive learning communities.
