Anthony McTaggart

Co-Founder & COO, Andson

I can proudly say that 2014 was a year of tremendous growth and capacity building for Andson. I also successfully launched my career of consulting for small-to-medium sized non profits. What's on the agenda for 2015? More great things for Andson, but also, for my ability to build local community relationships. I'd like to continue to help other non-profits IT infrastructure, as well as reach individuals in a new way through authorship and creative content.

Who would have ever thought I'd be educating young people? Nonprofit management is a far cry from what I envisioned for my future. I started out thinking that journalism would be a great outlet for me - I love to write, and still do to this day. But through some eye-opening experiences, decided to pursue my business degree. Receiving my Bachelors from Point Loma Nazarene University was exactly what I needed - a focused environment with local business leaders teaching classes.

I pursued a Dual Masters degree at UNLV - an MBA and an MS MIS. I did not like the realities of looking to work in a data center, though I am intrigued by the cloud and server-based gaming that is becoming prevalent here in Las Vegas right now. Everyday I realize that my knowledge of technology is one of my biggest strengths. The philanthropic community here in Southern Nevada is a powerful force - we have the ability to change this community for the better, and I aspire to share my knowledge with our leaders and those making strides against all we're up against..

I had a choice, I could go try to get a management-level job in Information Technologies, or I could help start Andson from scratch and enter the nonprofit sector- and have the opportunity of a lifetime. I am proud to say I made the right choice. I know nearly every facet of our company, and I don't ever want that to change.
