I’m a new World (7th) and US (8th) history teacher. I started the fifth week. I need lesson kickoff that produces hallway displays for Parent Night this Thursday. Ideas welcome!

I started teaching 7th Grade US History and 8th Grade World History in week five, after students had two long-term subs. Parent Night is Thursday the 18th, and I’d like students to individually create hallway displays by Wednesday (The classroom management isn't ready for group projects). We’re finishing our Pocahontas unit and will begin US History and Medieval History next.

The lesson can be the first two days of a longer unit, but it needs to generate something for display. I’m open to creative ideas and resources (including TPT). We use TCI, but I need something more engaging and visual to share with parents and post in the hallway. Thanks!
