Vicki Phillips

Chief Education Officer

Vicki Phillips is chief education officer at the National Geographic Society. Her career in education spans more than 30 years. She has been a teacher, superintendent of schools, chief state school officer, nonprofit leader, and K–12 education director. Previously, Phillips served as CEO in residence for Educurious and as the director of College Ready Education at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She holds an Ed.D. from the University of Lincoln and an M.A. and a B.S. from Western Kentucky University.
