Trevor Gardner

Director of Teaching and Learning

Trevor Gardner is currently the director of teaching and learning at ARISE High School, in Oakland, California. He taught high school history and English for 15 years before taking his current position. He works as a national consultant, supporting schools in the creation of restorative ecosystems on a school-wide level. Gardner is the author of Discipline Over Punishment: Successes and Struggles with Restorative Justice in Schools, as well as the editor of Leading in the Belly of the Beast: School Leadership in a System Designed to Fail, both published by Rowman and Littlefield.
