Ted Hasselbring

Research professor at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University

I am a Research Professor in Special Education at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. Over the past 25 years, I have conducted research on the use of technology for enhancing learning in students with mild disabilities and those who are at-risk of school failure. I began my career as a special education teacher in New York. In 1982, I joined the faculty of Vanderbilt University where for 18 years I served as the Co-Director of the Learning Technology Center and conducted research on using technology in reading and mathematics instruction. This research resulted in several widely used computer-intervention programs, including READ 180, System 44, FASTT Math, and Simon SIO.
