Susan O’Brien

Instructional Coach

Susan O’Brien, NBCT, is an instructional coach from Hampden, Maine. Her roots and passion come from 39 years teaching, mostly in a fifth-grade self-contained classroom. In recent years she spread her wings with instructional coaching in grades K–12, supervising math coaches at the University of Maine Farmington, and supporting National Board candidates. She was a Maine Teacher of the Year semi-finalist and a Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching Finalist. Susan was a cowriter of Student-Centered Learning: Nine Classrooms in Action edited by Bill Nave.
