Katherine Koch

Special Educator, Parent, Advocate

Dr. Katherine Koch is an Assistant Professor of Education at St. Mary's College of Maryland with a focus on special education and a decade of experience as an elementary school special educator. She holds a BSEd in Speech Pathology, an MEd in Special Education, and a PhD in Instructional Leadership for Changing Populations. Dr. Koch teaches courses in special education, learning disabilities, behavior disorders, twice-exceptional students, and research methods. Dr. Koch strives to provide future teachers with the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in working with students with disabilities in inclusive education settings. In addition, Dr. Koch is a volunteer, Nationally Registered and Maryland licensed Paramedic, providing emergency care to critically ill and injured patients in the pre-hospital setting.
