Judy Sandler

Third Grade Teacher at Friends School of Baltimore

Judy Sandler has been teaching in Baltimore area private schools for 28 years. Today, she advocates for the implementation of project-based learning units to engage students, and to give them voice and choice in what and how they learn. Students in her third-grade class learn through such opportunities as Genius Time, Choice Time for homework, and a project-based learning unit on Chocolate. Because she teaches children who have a myriad of ways to gain knowledge and information, her role as an educator is to show them how to love learning, fan the flame of their passions, and never get in the way of their education.
