Daria Sur

Art Teacher

Daria Sur is a media artist, educational researcher, and art teacher. This is her sixth year teaching K–12 media arts in California, New York, and Colorado. This past year, she taught digital arts to more than 500 students in six schools in Mono County, California. Her teaching processes focus on fostering social-emotional and applied digital skills that students can use to express their individualism and to navigate life challenges. She hopes that for her students, art becomes an authentic language of expression that sparks empathetic viewer response. Being an artist today means building meaningful interactions with people, thinking critically, and acting with a purpose of changing the world.

Daria has a master’s degree in education from Mills College in Oakland and speaks Russian, Spanish, and French. You can see what she's up to on Instagram.
