Dan Van der Vieren

Dan Van der Vieren is a math teacher who loves to solve puzzles and a Rubik’s Cube enthusiast. In June of 2018, he presented a TEDx talk in Boulder, Colorado on the topic: “Using the Rubik’s Cube to Enrich STEAM Education.” Since then, he has continued to share his success using the Rubik’s Cube in math class at local and national conferences, including the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Conference in 2019.

Aside from his work with the Rubik’s Cube, Dan enjoys creative writing, playing guitar, reading up on educational trends, and spending time with his family. One of his goals is to learn how to solve the Professor’s Cube, the 5x5 version of the traditional Rubik’s puzzle.
