Cindy Hoisington

Early Childhood Science and Teacher Educator

I am a science educator and teacher researcher at Education Development Center Inc. in Waltham, Massachusetts, who aims to promote science and STEM learning in early childhood classrooms, programs, and schools. I work primarily with preschool and kindergarten students and their teachers around integrating science, STEM, play, and language and literacy into their curricula, and documenting children’s scientific thinking. I also develop EC science and STEM curriculum and materials for teachers and families.

I am a science advisor for the animated educational series Curious George and worked as an advisor and writer for the Peep and the Big Wide World explorer’s guide and The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! parent and teacher materials. I’m also a cofacilitator for NAEYC’s Early Childhood Science Interest forum.
