Carol Shutt

I was the art teacher at Mount Desert Elementary School for 27 years. I’m also a practicing artist—my most recent exhibit was a one-person show in May 2018 at the College of the Atlantic’s Blum Gallery in Bar Harbor, Maine. I’ve received numerous educational grants to travel abroad to make and teach art—in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Nepal, and Cuba—which has both enriched me and added greatly to the learning experiences I’ve brought to my students over the years.
