How do you keep from getting off track?

Hi I'm a new teacher, and I foresee myself having a problem of getting off track in my own instruction. I have a tendency to ramble, and I need strategies to avoid this in both my planning and my delivery. 

Has anyone else had this problem, and what did you do about it?
