How do you handle a group of elementary students (5th grade) who are highly emotional- lots of tears, hurt feelings and high stress about struggles in learning?

I feel like they need a lot of help with developing growth mindset, grit and executive functioning skills but my schedule is so tight I don't know how to fit those "extras" in, but the lack of skills the kids have makes it difficult for them to learn.
