When learning accommodations are treated as standard "tools for the job" rather than "special favors," the stigma disappears, and students feel empowered to advocate for what they need. However, speaking about learning accommodations is not that easy, especially when students feel they are being singled out in front of their classmates.

This week's episode of Edutopia's School of Practice podcast concentrates on teacher discussion tips for how to approach and engage individual students about their learning supports, accommodations, and disability. Furthermore, this episode offers how to establish classroom norms, instill the importance of managing privacy, and suggestions and strategies for creating a comfortable and normalized classroom for all students with and without learning disabilities.

You can listen to this episode - chock-full of knowledge - by subscribing to "School of Practice" on Apple and Spotify.

I am excited to hear your own ideas, thoughts, insights, suggestions, and strategies you find helpful with this topic.
