Karen Lee

High School Social Studies Teacher

Karen Lee has been teaching in Washington, DC, for the past 16 years. She is currently a social studies teacher and department chair at Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter School. Karen also serves as the faculty advisor for the student-led activist group Pathways 2 Power. She has been awarded Mikva Challenge DC’s Inspiring Educator Award and a Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching, and was the runner-up for Washington, DC’s 2019 Teacher of the Year.
