I have signed up for Animoto, but I really haven't used it with my class yet. I appreciate the Common Craft-Style Videosteps. I look forward to using the Animoto with my class in the near future.

These are great ideas, I have used Animoto for professional presentations, but I think that kids would love it. I also believe it is easy enough for elementary kids to use Animoto as well. What a great introduction to larger possibilities and future options as they become more computer savvy.
Do you have any ideas of creating videos for the classroom with an elementary atmosphere of 25 2nd graders?

How or where do you give credit when making an Animoto video?

is that you put content before video. My students have a difficult time with that at first. They want to pick the format or start taking video before they have a clear idea of the message.

Here are a couple more ideas; http://wp.me/p1Dq2f-bF and http://wp.me/p1Dq2f-jy

Good variety of video options

Thank you for the array of video options. Animoto is so accessible to kids and teachers of all degrees of technology sophistication, it can be used in projects with little preliminary training. Please do make attribution an element of the project, though. The program has a vast music library, so there is no need to use non-licensed music. And Creative Commons photos are readily available, but still require credit.

KAVLI SCIENCE VIDEO CONTEST

We offer students and teachers a great project-based science video learning opportunity- the Kavli Science Video Contest. Here is an example from a 6th grade classroom, who made a video, a website, their own musical compositions and recordings, and compiled individual student research projects, all as part of the process http://sciencesavestheworld.wordpress.com/
We hope to see many more inspired entries! Contest deadline is in 4 weeks!

Thanks for mentioning Animoto. I've used it before in World History to look at key figures in Enlightenment and other eras. I would like to have more than 30 seconds though. I've also seen Youtube videos students have produced with the clickable links in the CYOA style. Thanks for sharing how your students worked with them and how you organized the process.
