Err... "Fun". I really wanted to keep the visual alliteration going. Remember what sparked out interest in math, history, writing, science, athletics, or art? Our enthusiasm can spark that same interest in out students.

Peace was a hard one for me

Peace was a hard one for me last semester and I'm trying to find it now after a great Winter Break. This quarter holds our state standardized tests and district benchmarks, so it is already creating stress. I try to let go by playing the world's mellowest music after all the buses have left. For fifteen minutes, I do nothing. Then I try to finish as much grading until 6pm. That's when I let it all go. I head home and I will not discuss work or vent in any way about my day. I focus on the other positives in my life that exist outside of my career- my family, my friends, my home and my team (Go Devils!). I have found that when I take care of my whole being- not just the teacher parts- I can find peace much easier.
