My Head of Department was brilliant when I stared as a teacher. Instead of standing in the classroom and making me nervous he used to stand outside and listen to my lessons, then offer me constructive comments- never critisism. It made a huge difference to my confidence. Good leadership is essential to creating good teachers. I now reciprocate by providing free team building events for staff at my wifes school.

Starting three years ago in a new school, but same district, was a little nerving for me. I definitely would have liked the P.A.L. I was assertive, but could have used the leadership to double check that I wasn't going overboard. The principal has since retired and we have an interim principal. Keeping my fingers crossed the new principal is technology forward.
