Thank you! The projects can be very challenging, but the satisfaction is... well... immeasurable. Thank you for your support and kind words. I like to think what we do shapes character and creates memories, so I appreciate you saying so.

I especially liked the idea of inviting the middle school students in to assist. Kudos on what the students accomplished--not only a successful baking project, but raising awareness about public safety, and passing on skills to another generation.

What an awesome post! One of today's great myths is that we can learn something without actively doing it, and unfortunately that idea permeates today's educational philosophy. As a result, we graduate students who are able to pass the test but don't have the faintest idea how to live a satisfying life.

Your 10,000 cookie extravaganza (and, I would bet, your classes) will probably be the shining star remembered when someone asks them "out of all of your schooling, what do you remember enjoying the most?" You obviously bring who YOU are to your work - a great model for teachers everywhere.
