I love this thanks for sharing. I work very closely with my grade level, we are always trying to incorporate more and more reading and writing that is meaningful to our students. Currents events play a role in this and one of our problems has been kids finding quality articles to report on, this will help increase the quality of the articles.

One thing to note: Watchup seems to be the only ipad-only app listed. The others you can also use on your iphone. Although many of the ipad app versions are more robust.

Not sure if any of these are supported by Android or not though.

Great to hear this wish there would have been some apps for better teaching of arts to student as in The Arts & Learning Conservatory performs for over 3,500 people yearly and provides arts education to nearly 800 children of Orange County annually we need some more visuals way to express ourselves.
