Although I try to stick with the different meanings, the distinction is increasingly becoming moot. Even my friends in the type industry say they don't really bother with the distinction anymore.

Here's a good clarification on the difference between "fonts" and "typefaces." The word "font" is misused in many cases.

Hi Jason,
This is brilliant. Something that I always encourage my students to do (with limited results, I must admit) is push the boundaries with their applications - try new fonts, and non-standard colours. Personalise it. Such a simple description (like that above) is a great way to begin the conversation. I bet you could write another post on colour!
